Suzanne Righi

STEM & Art Coordinator

Arguably our most over-qualified staff member, Suzanne brings over 22 years of experience working with children and has an impressive background in STEM education, art integration, and environmental learning. She has received specialized training in STEM, Montessori education, Art Impact, Tilth, and environmental education.

Suzanne purposefully designs engaging and hands-on learning experiences, with an toward appealing to a wide range of learners.

Suzanne has taught in Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), Highline Public Schools, and Seattle Public Schools, where she supported students through creative, inquiry-based instruction. She has also served as a summer school and after-school program coordinator, designing programs that balance academic learning, creativity, and student engagement.

Before becoming an educator, Suzanne developed deep roots in youth development through city recreation programs and the YMCA, where she participated as a camper and later served as a counselor-in-training, counselor, swim instructor, coach, and lifeguard. These experiences continue to inform her strong focus on safety, inclusion, and relationship-building.

Suzanne holds a Master’s degree in Instructional Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication with a minor in Community Relations from the University of Washington.

As STEM & Art Coordinator, Suzanne plans and supervises STEM and Art projects, supports counselors in delivering high-quality activities, and ensures campers are engaged in safe, meaningful, and age-appropriate learning experiences throughout the day.

Outside of camp, Suzanne enjoys playing pickleball, urban gardening, and raising chickens.
