Head Counselor

With four years as a physical education teacher, Jarika loves encouraging kids to move, play, and discover their potential.

Camp has always been a meaningful part of Jarika’s life. She attended summer camps throughout elementary and middle school and later returned as a counselor during high school. Those experiences shaped her belief that camp should be a place where kids can grow, connect, and truly feel like they belong.

 

As the oldest of eight siblings, Jarika has spent her life leading, problem-solving, and making sure everyone feels included and heard. She brings those skills to camp not only in her work with campers, but also in supporting and mentoring fellow counselors. Jarika will help coach camp CIT staff on strong leadership skills such as active supervision, positive behavior support, teamwork, and creating safe, engaging activities for campers.

 

Jarika has taught PE at Salmon Bay K-8 and Mercer Middle School and currently teaches PE at Cedar Park Elementary. She is passionate about creating a fun, supportive, and inclusive camp environment where both campers and counselors can grow, feel confident, and succeed. Whether through games, collaboration, or everyday moments, Jarika is excited to help make this summer an unforgettable experience.
